About Opus

Chris Street The Opus Car Company is owned by Chris Street, a hands-on engineer of the old school, with over 40 years skilled experience and qualifications in all aspects of mechanical engineering. Having served 25 years in the Fleet Air Arm, during which he instructed Engineering, he formed his own business, C S AutoClassics, which became renowned throughout the world for its famous Morris Minor upgrades .

C S AutoClassics became The Opus Car Company in 2003, its primary objective to market the new concept Opus 1 kit car , which evolved from the many upgrades that had been introduced over the years.

The Opus Car Company offers a range of services for the Classic Car, including servicing, structural welding, fault tracing, valuations and specialist design and manufacturing.

We specialise in Mercedes-Benz from the 1920's up to the 1990's, and were the first in the field to design a range of products and services to enable you to upgrade and tune the Morris Minor .

  • Trans-Moggie-fication
When Chris Street starts talking about Morris Minors his eyes light up with a passion writes Steve Sharpe. His workshop - a shed resembling an old barn and a small forecourt - nestles away from the main Wells to Bristol road. And on the forecourt sit the hulks of cars ranging from a shy old Morris Minor to a brash but fading MG.
  • Meet the thoroughly modern Moggie...
The first vehicle off the assembly line at a Wells car factory will soon be on its way to the customer. And the signs are good that the chic and powerful machine will be the first of many turned out by Mr Chris Street's C S Autoclassics, housed in outbuildings on the outskirts of Wells.
