The Morris Minor Cabriolet - Page 1

A new look for the Morris Minor

Morris Minor Cabriolet It's now some twenty years since the first integrated designs for an enhanced Morris Minor chassis first appeared. The best of these, which later became known as the Series III, is manufactured at Autoclassics in its advanced road going version, and is now designated the Series IV. Manufacturing development is being continued by the same team who first launched the brake and suspension kits in 1985.

The Series IV can trace its development back to the Forest Rally Minors campaigned through the eighties by Geoff Moore and Bob Woolley. Since then Autoclassics has developed the system to become the definitive standard for the modified Minors roadholding and handling. The inherent stability and safety of the chassis are ably displayed by Autoclassics Minor Traveller, affectionately known as 'Merlin'.

'Merlin' proves that with the Series IV chassis it is possible to fit engines of 110 bhp to the Minor and still be within the capabilities of the chassis. In fact, the Series IV displays levels of roadholding and handling that compare favourably with many modern rear wheel drive cars.

With the modified Minor now established as a feasible alternative to owning a current production car, the time has come to launch a new and exciting Morris Minor. Autoclassics has done just that with its new Morris Minor Cabriolet.

The Cabriolet is a modified adaptation of the Minor, yet retains all the classic lines of the original design. A lowline hood has been designed and developed which enhances the car's lines. A new interior specification adds style with comfort for those days with the top down. Advanced handling and braking from the Series IV suspension, matched with A-Plus engines giving 100 bhp and more, result in a sparkling performance. A choice of modern specification gearboxes and rear axles gives proven reliability and ease of driving.
